Greetings Friends,

Washington Association of Churches is endorsing these great events around the region and urging you to attend! The environment is one of the WAC's top four priorities for this legislative session. (Healthcare, Tax Fairness, and Economic Justice are the others).  Twelve local environmental organizations have decided on four legislative priorities for 2005.  You can get informed about them, meet your legislators and see where they stand on these issues effecting your community our State!  -- God's Peace to you.

Any questions call me Lindsay Daehlin 206.625.9790x22, or respond by email.
There is a contact person for each event listed below as well.

Why is this program important?

The majority of people living in Washington support strong
environmental protection in the state. They are aware,
well-informed and identify clean air and water,
transportation, sprawl, and energy as their primary
environmental concerns. However, the concerns of this
environmental majority are often not reflected in the
actions of their elected officials. Many officials publicly
espouse conservation values, yet there have not been
significant policy gains for the conservation community. In
fact, it is often a struggle to keep hard-won protections in
place.

That's why the environmental community is hosting these
events with your legislators.  You’ll have the
opportunity to find out where your representatives stand on
environmental issues and to build new relationships.
You’ll make sure your legislators know that voters are
paying attention to their actions.
